Daily Prompt: Ancient

Morals and values seem to have depleted along the way of this life. Folks turn to greed and chaos in hopes of receiving a pat on the back from social media. Likes, shares, and emojis  ( images 6b1fb61075b74ad097cab403194b6bfe )have taken the place of morality, loyalty, and genuine friendship. It seems as though true friendship has been depleted and has been replaced by virtual presence or fame.

I’ve seen folks go against some of their “best friends” in manners that were nowhere near indicting that there was a strong bond between the two. The amount of comments or likes really seems to boost their “anger” or feelings about the manner which makes things even worse. This sickening because the same folks commenting on their post are the same ones sending the screenshots through messenger or text messages.

Loyalty is like a rare gem that needs to be found and dusted off. Apparently the person that can grant you more social media popularity should be the person you deem as your BFF. In my opinion, real friendships are being lost in the shuffle of likes, shares, and comments. I’d give anything to have a friendship built with someone because their morals match mine, their ambition motivates mine, and their loyalty is never questioned.

Likes and comments won’t matter to a true friend, heck , they wont even care about a social media presence. Hopefully the true elements of friendship don’t become ancient history.
